Situation:
- Client was in business for over 50 years, and was well regarded in the marketplace
- Despite this, it had been several years since the organization formally reviewed their overall business strategy, which concerned their Board of Directors given the ongoing changes in the operating environment
- Attempts by internal staff to discuss this topic and form any kind of consensus were unsuccessful
B&A’s Solution:
- Plan and facilitate a focused “business strategy session” among the organizations Board and key staff members
- Included background preparation, and using a number of interesting and engaging group facilitation techniques to secure participation and ultimately achieve consensus in charting a path forward for the organization
Result:
- The session received several favorable comments from participants and was successful in identifying not only a shared vision of the overall purpose of the organization going forward, but also a number of strategic initiatives that would allow it to succeed in making the vision a reality
